Alfa Romeo Giulia tuning: one diesel, many outputs

The Giulia has one diesel family, the 2.2 Multijet with 2,143 cc, built by Fiat at Pratola Serra. Its output changed over the years: 136, 150, 160, 180, 190 and 210 hp. The 150 and 180 hp diesels are covered on this page with the GAN GT, so Alfa Romeo Giulia chip tuning with a tuning box depends on your year and version. The 160, 190 and 210 hp diesels do not appear separately in the Giulia catalogue: you will find the same engine under the Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2.2 D.

The 136 hp diesel is not in the catalogue. The 2.0 Turbo comes in two outputs, 200 hp and 280 hp in the Veloce; both work with the GAN GT. The 180 hp version reaches 221 hp with the GAN GT in the catalogue. For the 150 hp version the gain is 44 hp. The 2.2 Multijet works with the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
