How much more power does the GAN GT give the Mégane R.S.?
With the GAN GT, the Mégane III 2.0 TCe goes from 250 hp and 340 Nm to 317 hp and 433 Nm. The 265 hp 2.0 TCe of the same Mégane III is listed separately, also with the GAN GT. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
TCe or SCe: which GAN fits my Renault?
A TCe is a turbo petrol, and for most TCe engines the module is the GAN GT. Some, such as the Mégane III 1.2 and 1.4 TCe, use the GAN GA+, so check your exact engine in the catalogue. A naturally aspirated SCe uses the GAN GA+. The small t in the code, as in H5Ht, confirms a turbo.
Which Renault diesels work with the GAN GT?
The 1.5 dCi K9K, the 1.6 dCi R9M and the 2.0 dCi M9R are turbodiesels suited to the GAN GT; the catalogue lists each power output separately. The Mégane IV, for example, has the 1.5 dCi with 90 and 110 hp.

An ECU remap rewrites the factory software, while the GAN tuning module sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. The factory software, the checksums and the flash counter stay untouched, and the engine's factory protections remain active. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

Tuning box or ECU remap: which should I choose?
An ECU remap permanently changes the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning module adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute.

Renault tuning: the Mégane R.S. and the turbo code
The Mégane R.S., the hot version from Renault Sport, is the clearest guide to Renault tuning with a tuning box. It began with the 2.0 Turbo, the F4Rt, with 225 to 265 hp in the Mégane II and III. Since January 2018 the Mégane IV R.S. has used the 1.8 TCe with 280 to 300 hp, and in 2021 the Renault Sport name gave way to Alpine.
That 1.8 is coded M5Pt. When you tune a Renault, look for a small t at the end of the engine code: F4Rt, H5Ht or M5Pt all mark a turbo version.
Reading the badge: TCe, SCe and dCi
Renault engine tuning starts with the badge, and the number in the name is the power in hp. TCe is a turbo petrol, such as the 1.2 TCe H5Ft, the 1.4 TCe H4Jt, the 1.3 TCe H5Ht and the 2.0 TCe F4Rt. SCe is a naturally aspirated petrol, such as the 1.0 and the 1.6 SCe H4M.
dCi is a common rail turbodiesel: the 1.5 K9K, the 1.6 R9M and the 2.0 M9R, and Blue dCi adds AdBlue from 2018. A Renault engine code is a letter for the family plus an index, such as K4M, K7M, F4R, H4M, K9K and H5Ht. Most turbo engines work with the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power; the SCe engines use the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12%. Either way, it is your exact engine in the catalogue that decides the module.

Engines shared with Nissan and Mercedes
Renault shares engines with Nissan: the H4M is the Nissan HR16DE, the M4R is the MR20DE and the H5Ft is the HR12DDT. The diesels K9K, R9M and M9R were also fitted to the Nissan Qashqai, X-Trail and Juke. The 1.3 TCe H5Ht was developed with Daimler and serves Mercedes as the M282; the K9K diesel went into Mercedes as the OM607 and OM608.
Mégane engines in the catalogue
For the Mégane III, the 2.0 TCe with 190, 220, 250 and 265 hp is matched to the GAN GT. The Mégane III dCi diesels, from the 1.5 with 86 hp to the 2.0 with 163 hp, are also covered by the GAN GT. The Mégane IV has the 1.6 dCi with 130 and 165 hp, and the Mégane II has the 2.0 dCi with 150 and 173 hp. The dCi badge covers everything from the 1.5 to the 2.3, so the engine code decides which version you need.
