Chevrolet Chip Tuning
Up to 30% more power for your Chevrolet
The Chevrolet catalogue lists 255 engines (models: 49, generations: 61). For 15% of the engines, there are the GAN GT (up to 30% more power) and GAN GTL (up to 25%) tuning modules; for the rest, the GAN GA and GAN GA+ (up to 12%). Each engine’s figures are on its own page.
Chevrolet chip tuning without an ECU remap
The tuning module sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

Chevrolet chip tuning: questions
What does chip tuning with the module do for a Chevrolet Cruze 1.4 Turbo or 2.0 diesel?
The Cruze 1.4 Turbo makes 140 hp and 200 Nm and is the Opel A14NET; with the GAN GT it reaches 181 hp and 258 Nm. The 2.0 diesel with 125, 150 or 163 hp is a turbodiesel, so the GAN GT covers it too. The 150 hp version goes to 193 hp and 409 Nm, up from 320 Nm. These are the stated gains for these engine types, not a dyno reading of your car.
Is there a module for the Chevrolet Captiva diesel?
The Captiva 2.0 VCDi has 150 hp and 320 Nm, and the 2.2 VCDi has 163 hp and 350 Nm or 184 hp and 400 Nm. Yes: both are turbodiesels, and the GAN GT is the module for them. The 2.0 VCDi goes to 193 hp and 409 Nm, and the 2.2 VCDi to 210 hp and 445 Nm (163 hp) and 236 hp and 505 Nm (184 hp).
What can a module do for a naturally aspirated Chevrolet Aveo or Lacetti?
The Aveo, Lacetti and Spark petrol engines are naturally aspirated, so they work with the GAN GA+. Its stated gain is up to 12% more power, not a fixed figure.
Chevrolet chiptuning with a tuning box or an ECU remap: what stays untouched?
An ECU remap rewrites the software of the control unit, whereas the GAN module works between the sensors and the ECU. The factory software remains as it was, and no traces are left once the module is taken off.
Does the GAN module affect my Chevrolet warranty?
No. The module does not change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved. We also give an engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Tuning box or ECU remap: which should I choose?
An ECU remap permanently changes the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning module adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute.
Chevrolet chip tuning: what to know about the engines
Chevrolet tuning in Europe: Daewoo and Opel under one badge
European Chevrolet is a short chapter: from 2005 every GM Daewoo model sold in Europe wore the Chevrolet badge. For Chevrolet tuning with a tuning box that history matters, because it tells you whose engines are under the bonnet. Before 2005 Chevrolet Europe sold only a few American models, and after 2010 GM added the Corvette, Camaro and Malibu through a Swiss division. Sales in Western and Central Europe were around 200 thousand cars a year, with a peak in 2007. GM withdrew the brand from Europe at the end of 2015, and sales in Germany stopped in mid-2014. After 2015 only the Camaro and the Corvette remained, until August 2019.
Most European Chevrolets were not American cars at all: the Cruze and the Aveo T300 share their engines with Opel. The 1.6 and 1.8 Ecotec (F16D4 and F18D4) are the Opel A16XER and A18XER, and the 1.4 Turbo (LUJ) is the A14NET from the Opel Astra J and Mokka. The Captiva is a relative of the Opel Antara, and the Trax is a relative of the Opel Mokka.
Engines by model
The first-generation Cruze was sold in Europe from May 2009 to December 2014. Its petrol engines were a 1.6 of 113 and later 124 hp, a 1.8 of 141 hp and, from July 2012, a 1.4 Turbo of 140 hp; the diesels were a 1.7 of 110 and 130 hp and a 2.0 of 125, 150 and 163 hp. The first-generation Captiva reached Europe in October 2006 with 2.4-litre and V6 petrol engines. The diesels were the 2.0 VCDi of 150 hp and the 2.2 VCDi of 163 and 184 hp. The Aveo T300 came with 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engines and, from January 2012, a 1.3 diesel of 75 and 95 hp.
VCDi means a common rail turbodiesel: the first 2.0 was developed with VM Motori, and the later 2.0 and 2.2 are GM Family Z engines. E-TEC II and S-TEC are Daewoo engines, and all of them are naturally aspirated: E-TEC II 1.4 to 1.6 on the Lacetti and Aveo, and S-TEC 1.2 on the Aveo. The Spark M400 was not a Chevrolet in Europe, where it was sold as the Opel Karl.

Which GAN module suits your Chevrolet
The 1.4 Turbo and the VCDi diesels work with the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power. The naturally aspirated Ecotec, E-TEC and S-TEC engines get the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12%. Ecotec is the common GM name for petrol engines. It covers the small Family 0 and Family 1 engines of the Cruze and Aveo, and the separate 2.0 to 2.5 litre family that includes the 2.4 of the Captiva. The Lacetti, sold in Germany from April 2004, had a 1.4 of 95 hp, a 1.6 of 109 hp, a 1.8 of 121 hp and a 2.0 common rail diesel of 121 hp.
