Skoda Chip Tuning
Up to 30% more power for your Skoda
The Skoda catalogue lists 191 engines (models: 9, generations: 18). For 59% of the engines, there are the GAN GT (up to 30% more power) and GAN GTL (up to 25%) tuning modules; for the rest, the GAN GA and GAN GA+ (up to 12%). Each engine’s figures are on its own page.
Skoda chip tuning without an ECU remap
The tuning module sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

Skoda chip tuning: questions
How much more power does the GAN GT give an Octavia RS?
The Octavia III RS 2.0 TSI with 220 hp and 350 Nm reaches 264 hp and 435 Nm with the GAN GT. The 245 hp version and the 184 hp 2.0 TDI RS are listed separately, as are the Octavia II RS versions. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Pump injector or common rail: which does my Octavia 2.0 TDI have?
The Octavia II had both types on the 2.0 TDI, while the 1.9 TDI came only with pump injectors. The 2.0 TDI with 140 hp changed from pump injectors to common rail in May 2010, so check the engine code and the build date.
What does the GAN GA+ give a Škoda 1.6 FSI or 2.0 FSI?
The FSI engines of the Octavia II have direct injection and no turbo, and they take the GAN GA+ with up to 12% more power.
Škoda chiptuning: tuning box or ECU remap for a TSI or TDI?
An ECU remap rewrites the factory software, while the GAN tuning module sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. The factory software, the checksums and the flash counter stay untouched, and the engine's factory protections remain active. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Does the GAN module affect my Skoda warranty?
No. The module does not change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved. We also give an engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Tuning box or ECU remap: which should I choose?
An ECU remap permanently changes the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning module adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute.
Skoda chip tuning: what to know about the engines
Škoda tuning: the RS always has a turbo
Škoda tuning with a tuning box is easiest to explain through the RS, called vRS in Great Britain and Ireland. It is the most powerful version, with either a TSI petrol or a TDI diesel. Its engine has a turbo in every generation: the Octavia I RS has the 1.8T with 180 hp, the Octavia II the 2.0 TFSI with 200 hp or the 2.0 TDI with 170 hp. The Octavia III has the 2.0 TSI with 220, 230 and 245 hp or the 2.0 TDI with 184 hp, and the Octavia IV the 2.0 TSI with 245 hp. The RS versions of the Octavia II and III work with the GAN GT.
A Škoda engine is a Volkswagen engine
Škoda engine tuning follows the Volkswagen Group, which bought into Škoda after 1990 and is its parent company today. The Octavia III received the EA211 (1.2 and 1.4 TSI, later 1.0 and 1.5 TSI), the EA888 (1.8 and 2.0 TSI, RS) and the EA288 (1.6 and 2.0 TDI). These are the engines of the SEAT Leon III, the Audi A3 8V and the Golf VII. Many codes, such as CJZA, CHPA, CJSA, CKFC and CUPA, are shared by the Octavia III and the Leon III. Most turbo engines work with the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power, while the naturally aspirated FSI engines use the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12%. Check your exact engine in the catalogue to see which module it needs.

Names and codes
TSI is a turbo petrol with direct injection, and every TSI in the Octavia II to IV has a turbo. FSI is direct injection without a turbo, as in the 1.6 FSI and 2.0 FSI of the Octavia II. TFSI is the turbo version, the 2.0 TFSI RS that was later renamed 2.0 TSI. TDI is a turbodiesel, and PD marks pump injectors while CR marks common rail.
The number before the letters is the displacement in litres, so a 1.4 TSI has 1,395 cm³ and a 2.0 TDI has 1,968 cm³. Green tec or GreenLine marks economical versions, such as the Octavia III 1.6 TDI with 110 hp, and Scout is the off-road version. To find your engine, start from that name, the engine code and the power figure in your documents.
Models in the catalogue
The core of the range is the Octavia, in four generations, and the Superb, alongside the Fabia, Rapid, Yeti, Roomster, Praktik, Karoq and Kodiaq. The Superb III has the 1.4, 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0 TSI from 125 to 280 hp and the 1.6 and 2.0 TDI from 120 to 200 hp.
Which Skoda models are in the catalogue
The catalogue lists 9 models from Skoda. The most engines are listed for the Octavia (59), Fabia (40) and Superb (33). The biggest gain among the models is on the Octavia: up to +80 hp.
Naturally aspirated Skoda engines
For 47 naturally aspirated engines from Skoda, there is the GAN GA+: up to 12% more power and up to 15% lower fuel consumption in ECO mode. You can fit it yourself, in most cases in under 15 minutes.
How to find your Skoda engine
