What makes the Chevrolet Cruze special

Chevrolet Cruze tuning: the European J300

Chevrolet Cruze tuning depends on your engine; the catalogue covers the European J300, sold from May 2009 to December 2014. The 2.0 VCDi comes with 125, 150 and 163 hp, the 1.7 TD with 110 and 131 hp, and the 1.4 Turbo with 140 hp. The petrol 1.6 and 1.8 work with the GAN GA+.

On the diesels, the particulate filter can clog when the car is used mostly for short trips. A tuning module does not replace a worn part: have the particulate filter checked before fitting.

Which GAN module fits the Cruze 1.7 TD and the 1.4 Turbo?

Both work with the GAN GT: the catalogue lists the 1.7 TD Eco with 110 hp and the 1.4 Turbo ECOTEC with 140 hp. The module does not repair faults, and it adjusts the engine sensor signals rather than the ECU program.

Tuning Chevrolet Cruze 2.0 VCDi: what does the GAN GT add?

The 163 hp version goes from 163 hp and 360 Nm to 210 hp and 457 Nm. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. For turbo engines the GAN GT is rated at up to 30% more power, and the GAN GA+ for the 1.6 and 1.8 petrol engines at up to 12%.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
