What makes the Chrysler Pacifica special
Chrysler Pacifica tuning: when overtaking takes too long
Overtaking on a two-lane road with the whole family on board is where the first-generation Pacifica shows its weight. The six-seat crossover weighs about two tonnes, and the 3.5 V6 with its four-speed automatic is slow to move that mass. Two quite different cars have worn the Pacifica name, so the first step with a tuning box is to be sure which one you have.
The crossover was built from 2003 to 2007 and sold until the 2008 model year; only a small number reached European buyers, mostly as imports. The 4.0 V6 with a six-speed automatic arrived for the 2007 model year. The 3.5 and the 4.0 are listed separately, and both work with the GAN GA+.
The three V6 engines
Three V6 engines were offered over the model's life: the 3.5, the 3.8 for the front-wheel-drive base car, and the 4.0 from the facelift. The 4.0 replaced the 3.5 in 2007, alongside new headlights and a three-bar grille. The catalogue lists the 3.5i at 253 hp and 339 Nm, the 3.8i at 218 hp and the 4.0i at 255 hp. All three are naturally aspirated V6 engines, and all three work with the GAN GA+.
The minivan with the same name
The minivan sold as the Pacifica from the 2017 model year is a different car altogether, with a 3.6 V6. It was built for North America and reaches Europe mainly as an import. The 3.6i in the catalogue, at 291 hp and 355 Nm, belongs to that minivan and not to the 2003–2008 crossover.

Go by the engine: the 3.5 V6 is listed as the 3.5i at 253 hp and 339 Nm, and the 4.0 V6 as the 4.0i at 255 hp. The facelift cars from 2007 have the 4.0 and the six-speed automatic.
How much more power does the Pacifica 4.0 get with a tuning box?
With the GAN GA+ the 4.0i goes from 255 hp to 275 hp. For a naturally aspirated V6 the GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Is there a module for the front-wheel-drive Pacifica 3.8?
Yes, the 3.8 V6 with 218 hp is listed separately and works with the GAN GA+. It was the base engine of the front-wheel-drive car from the 2005 model year.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
