What makes the Citroen C1 special
Citroen C1 tuning: which 1.0 is yours?
C1 tuning with a tuning box depends on one detail: which 1.0 is in your car, since it was sold with 68, 69 and 72 hp. The C1 I (2005–2014) has 68 hp; the C1 II had 69 hp from 2014 (often listed as 68 hp) and 72 hp from April 2018. The 1.0 and 1.2 petrol engines work with the GAN GA+. The 1.4 HDi 54 in the C1 I is a turbo diesel, and it uses the GAN GT.

How much more power does a tuning box give the Citroen C1 1.0?
With the GAN GA+, the car goes from 68 hp and 93 Nm to 76 hp and 104 Nm. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. The GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power for naturally aspirated engines, and the GAN GT at up to 30% for the turbo 1.4 HDi.
Citroen C1 remap or tuning box on the 1.0: what is the difference?
A remap replaces the program in the engine control unit, while the GAN module adjusts the engine sensor signals before they reach the ECU. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
