What makes the Citroen C2 special
Citroen C2 tuning: VTR and VTS share one engine family
C2 versions have trim names, but a tuning box is chosen by the engine behind the badge: VTR, VTS or one of the diesels. Both the VTR and the VTS use a 1.6 16V engine from the TU5 family, coded TU5JP4 and TU5JP4S. The VTS (December 2004 to November 2009) is the more powerful of the two; the VTR was sold from September 2003 to June 2006.
Both work with the GAN GA+, as do the small 1.1 and 1.4 petrol engines. The two diesels, the 1.4 HDi 68 and the 1.6 HDi 110 FAP, are turbo engines and use the GAN GT. The 1.6 HDi 110 FAP was fitted only to the VTS, from September 2006.

What does the GAN GA+ add to the C2 VTS and VTR?
The GAN GA+ takes the VTS to 140 hp and 160 Nm and the VTR to 123 hp and 165 Nm. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. On these petrol engines it is rated at up to 12% more power.
Citroen C2 1.4 HDi chip tuning: which GAN module fits?
The 1.4 HDi 68 works with the GAN GT, which is rated at up to 30% more power for turbo engines. The catalogue lists 88 hp and 208 Nm for it, starting from 160 Nm, the figure for cars built from 2008; earlier 1.4 HDi cars have 150 Nm. The module does not reprogram the gearbox, so the SensoDrive gearbox stays as it is.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
