What makes the Daihatsu Sirion special
Daihatsu Sirion 1.3 tuning: before or after the facelift
Daihatsu Sirion 1.3 tuning is about what a tuning box can add to a small naturally aspirated engine. Before the 2007 facelift the 1.3 K3-VE makes 87 hp and 120 Nm; after it the catalogue lists 90 hp. The 1.0 1KR-FE is a three-cylinder with a manual gearbox only, and the catalogue gives it 70 hp and 93 Nm. The 1.3 comes with front-wheel or four-wheel drive and with a manual or an automatic gearbox.
The 1.5 3SZ-VE makes 103 hp, with 132 Nm on the manual and 138 Nm on the automatic. In Germany the 1.5 came with front-wheel drive, so check the version in your registration documents. The names S and Sports are trims, not separate engines. Each of these engines is naturally aspirated, so each works with the GAN GA+.
Which Sirion is yours
The first generation, the M100 and M101 launched in 1998, was the export version of the Japanese Storia. From 2000 it had the 1.3 K3-VE with 87 hp, the same engine code the second generation uses. The second generation, the M300, came to Europe in 2005 as the export version of the Boon. From September 2007 to September 2011 it was built in Esztergom, Hungary, for several European markets.
The 1.0 and 1.3 are the mainstream engines of the second generation, with the 1.5 3SZ-VE above them. The facelift of the Boon came in December 2006 and reached Europe in 2007. The first generation came with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. The second generation often goes by the name Sirion 2.

Tuned with the GAN GA+, the 87 hp 1.3 gives 97 hp and 134 Nm. The module is rated at up to 12% more power; these are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
What does chip tuning add to the 1.0 three-cylinder?
The 1.0 works with the GAN GA+ too, starting from 70 hp and 93 Nm.
Do the 1.5 manual and automatic share the same figures?
The catalogue lists the 1.5 with 138 Nm, the torque of the automatic, while the manual makes 132 Nm. The same 1.5 figures apply to either gearbox.
Tuning box or ECU remap for a Sirion?
A tuning box does not touch the factory software in the engine control unit; an ECU remap replaces it. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
