What makes the Ford EcoSport special
Ford EcoSport tuning: petrol EcoBoost or diesel TDCi
The European EcoSport is mostly a petrol car: the 1.0 EcoBoost with 125 hp is the main engine, and the 1.5 TDCi diesel with 95 hp took only a small share. The petrol has more power, 125 hp against 95 hp, while the diesel has more torque, 215 Nm against 170 Nm. Ford EcoSport chiptuning depends on which of the two engines you have.
The second-generation EcoSport, built on the Fiesta platform, came to Europe in June 2014 and stayed until 2022. The European version was first shown at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2013; from 2017 it was built for Europe in Craiova, Romania. In Germany 102,610 had been registered by the end of 2023, with 2019 the peak year.
Diesel and petrol engines in the catalogue
The 1.5 TDCi made 90 hp until May 2015 and 95 hp afterwards. The later 1.5 TDCi with 100 hp and the 1.5 EcoBlue diesels are not in the catalogue. The 1.0 EcoBoost with 140 hp is not in the catalogue either. The 1.0 EcoBoost with 100 hp is not listed separately for the EcoSport: it appears as the 1.0 EcoBoost of the Ford Fiesta Mk8.
The naturally aspirated 1.5 Ti-VCT with 112 hp was sold until 2017. Early cars had a five-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive, and the Ti-VCT could be ordered with a six-speed automatic. After the 2017 facelift Ford dropped that engine and kept the three-cylinder EcoBoost. The first generation, built in Brazil from 2003 to 2012, was never officially sold in Europe, so every European EcoSport is a second-generation car.

How much more power do the EcoSport 1.0 EcoBoost 125 and 1.5 TDCi 95 get?
With the GAN GT the EcoBoost 125 reaches 162 hp and 230 Nm, and the 1.5 TDCi 95 goes to 124 hp and 290 Nm. The GAN GT for turbocharged engines is rated at up to 30% more power. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Is there a tuner for more boost on the 1.0 EcoBoost?
Yes, the 125 hp EcoBoost works with the GAN GT, the tuning box made for turbocharged engines. The GAN GTL is also available for this engine.
Is there a GAN module for the EcoSport 1.5 TDCi 90 and 95 hp?
Yes, both work with the GAN GT; the build date tells them apart, with 90 hp until May 2015 and 95 hp afterwards.
Is there a module for the EcoSport 1.5 Ti-VCT?
Yes, the 112 hp petrol uses the GAN GA+. The GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power for this engine.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
