Not sure which engine you have?

The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Hyundai i10 tuning: what changes

The tuning module sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Hyundai i10 special

Hyundai i10 tuning: small engines and one turbo

Hyundai i10 tuning is limited by the engine itself: in most versions it is small and naturally aspirated. The N Line 1.0 T-GDI is the one turbocharged engine in the current range. The petrol engines of the earlier i10 are naturally aspirated, with 63 to 87 hp.

The 1.0 T-GDI of the N Line has 100 hp until 2024 and 90 hp after it. The 100 hp version is not listed separately for the i10: the same engine appears as the 1.0 T-GDI of the Kia Cee'd. The 90 hp version is not in the catalogue.

Three generations of the i10

The first i10 of 2008 to 2013 had a 1.1 with 67 hp, later 69 hp, and a 1.2 with 77 hp, later 86 hp. With the GAN GA+ the first-generation 1.1 with 69 hp reaches 77 hp and 111 Nm. The second generation, sold from November 2013 to 2019, had a 1.0 with 67 hp and a 1.25 with 87 hp. The third, from 2019, has a 1.0 with 67 hp and a 1.2 with 84 hp.

The engine labelled 1.3i in the catalogue, with 87 hp and 121 Nm, is the 1.25 of the second generation, with 1248 cc. The 1.1 CRDi with 75 hp was the first generation's diesel, sold from March 2008 to January 2010. It is the only engine on this page that works with the GAN GT. The Grand i10 is a different car, built in India and not sold in Europe, so its engines are not covered here.

Questions

Hyundai i10 chip tuning: questions

Which i10 engine do I have, the 1.0 with 67 hp or the 1.25 with 87 hp?

Both belong to the second generation of 2013 to 2019. The 1.0 with 67 hp also continues in the third generation from 2019, so check the year of your car.

How much more power does the i10 1.25 get?

The 1.25 has 87 hp and 121 Nm as standard, rising to 97 hp and 136 Nm with the GAN GA+. With the GAN GA+ the rating is up to 12% more power, and up to 15% lower fuel consumption with an economical driving style. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.

How much power does the GAN GA+ add to the i10 1.0?

With the GAN GA+ the 1.0 goes from 67 hp and 95 Nm to 75 hp and 106 Nm.

Does the GAN GT for the 1.1 CRDi fit every generation?

It fits the first-generation diesel only, because later i10 models had no diesel.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
