What makes the Infiniti QX60 special
Infiniti QX60 tuning for an imported car
Tuning an Infiniti QX60 comes down to one question: what a tuning box can add to the 3.5 V6. Built in Smyrna, Tennessee, mainly for the United States, the QX60 never joined the Infiniti Europe range. Infiniti Europe offered the Q30, QX30, Q50, Q60, Q70, QX50 and QX70 instead, so a QX60 on European roads is a grey import.
Performance upgrades: which engine is yours
The first generation arrived in 2012 and wore the JX35 badge until 2013. Its 3.5 V6, the VQ35DE, is listed at 265 hp and 336 Nm and drives through a CVT. After the 2016 model year the V6 became the direct-injection VQ35DD, listed in the catalogue at 299 hp and 366 Nm. The second generation, introduced in 2021, keeps the VQ35DD and adds a nine-speed automatic. Both V6 engines are naturally aspirated.
The QX60 Hybrid, sold from the 2014 model year, pairs a supercharged 2.5-litre QR25DER with an electric motor. In the catalogue the 2.5h has 231 hp and 330 Nm for the petrol engine alone; the Hybrid's 250 hp is the combined output. In the catalogue every QX60 engine works with the GAN GA+. The model year and the output in your registration papers decide which of them fits your car.
Gearbox and model year
The GAN module does not reprogram the gearbox, whether it is the CVT of the first generation or the nine-speed automatic of the second. From the 2025 model year the 3.5 V6 gives way to a 2.0 turbo, the engine already used in the Chinese QX60.

How much more power does a QX60 3.5 V6 get with a tuning box?
Choose by generation: 265 hp and 336 Nm up to the 2016 model year, 299 hp and 366 Nm after it. For the later 299 hp car the tuned figures are 323 hp and 395 Nm. The GAN GA+ line is rated at up to 12% more power; these are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Is there a tuning box for the QX60 Hybrid?
The catalogue lists it as the 2.5h, with 231 hp and 330 Nm for the supercharged 2.5-litre engine. The 250 hp system output includes the electric motor.
Is chip tuning possible on an imported QX60?
Go by the engine code, not by where the car was sold. The GAN module sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals, so the factory software, checksums and flash counter stay untouched. The module plugs into the existing connectors and can be taken off again in about a minute.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
