Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Kia Stonic tuning: what changes
The tuning module sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

What makes the Kia Stonic special
Kia Stonic tuning: 1.0 T-GDI at 100 hp or 120 hp
Two different engines wear the Stonic 1.0 T-GDI badge: one makes 120 hp, the other 100 hp, and both produce 172 Nm. The 120 hp engine arrived with the car in 2017; the 100 hp version followed from July 2019 until 2020. For Kia Stonic tuning with a tuning box, your car's output decides, not the badge.
In the catalogue both versions end in August 2020, the date of the facelift. From that facelift the 120 hp version became a 48-volt mild hybrid. Published tables give 200 Nm instead of 172 Nm for the DCT cars with that system.
The other Stonic engines
The 1.6 CRDi with 110 hp and 260 Nm belongs to the early cars; Kia dropped the diesel from the European range at the 2020 facelift. The later 1.6 CRDi with 116 hp and 280 Nm is not listed separately for the Stonic: you will find the same engine as the 1.6 CRDI of the Kia Sportage V. The 136 hp version, also with 280 Nm, does not appear under the Stonic either: the same engine is listed as the 1.6 CRDi of the Hyundai i30 III. The 1.2 with 84 hp and 122 Nm and the 1.4 with 100 hp and 133 Nm are the petrol engines of 2017 to 2020.
After the facelift the 1.4 left the range, and the 1.2 and the 1.0 T-GDI stayed. After the facelift the 1.2 has 118 Nm, so its catalogue figures suit the earlier cars. With the GAN GA+ the 1.4 with 100 hp reaches 112 hp and 149 Nm. The 115 hp 1.0 T-GDI is not in the catalogue.
Kia Stonic chip tuning: questions
Which version do I choose if I want to tune a Stonic 1.0 T-GDI?
Go by your car's output, 100 hp or 120 hp, and check that the car was built before August 2020.
How much more power does the Stonic 1.0 T-GDI get?
For the 100 hp version, with 172 Nm, the catalogue shows 129 hp and 222 Nm with the GAN GT. For the 120 hp version it shows 155 hp and 222 Nm. On the T-GDI and the diesel the GAN GT is rated at up to 30% more power. The other petrol engines use the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12%. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Why do some Stonic 1.0 T-GDI cars show 200 Nm and others 172 Nm?
Published tables give 200 Nm for the DCT versions with the mild hybrid; the catalogue covers cars built up to August 2020 and uses 172 Nm.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
