What makes the Lexus NX special
Lexus NX tuning: three drivelines in one model
The first-generation NX sold about 170,000 units in Europe from 2014 to 2021. Lexus NX tuning concerns three drivelines: the 2.0 turbo, the 2.5 hybrid of the first generation and the 2.5 hybrid of the second. The turbo works with the GAN GT; for the hybrids the GAN GA+ figures refer to the petrol engine. The NX 200t, renamed NX 300 in 2017, has the 2.0 turbo 8AR-FTS with 238 hp and 350 Nm and a six-speed automatic; all-wheel drive was available.
The NX 300h combines a 2.5 petrol engine of 155 hp and 210 Nm with an electric motor for 197 hp of system output. The second generation, sold since November 2021, brings the NX 350h with a petrol part of 190 hp and 239 Nm and 244 hp of system output. The NX 450h+ is a plug-in hybrid with a petrol part of 185 hp and 227 Nm and 309 hp of system output. The 2.5 plug-in hybrid of the NX 450h+ is not in the catalogue.
What the catalogue figures mean
The catalogue lists the NX 200t and the NX 300 separately, both with 238 hp and 350 Nm. The 155 hp figure is for the petrol engine of the NX 300h, and the 190 hp figure for that of the NX 350h. The 196 hp figure for the 300h is the system output, paired with the torque of the petrol engine.
The NX 200 with 150 and 151 hp is a version for other markets. For the hybrids, the GAN GA+ figures cover the petrol engine only; the effect on system output is not stated. The model names also include the NX 300, NX 350h and NX 450h+.

Are the NX 200t and the NX 300 the same car for a tuning box?
Both have the 2.0 turbo with 238 hp and 350 Nm, and the NX 300 is the NX 200t after its 2017 facelift. Their GAN GT figures differ in the catalogue, though, so use the figures for your exact model.
How much more power does the NX 2.0 turbo get, and how is a tuning box different from an ECU remap?
With the GAN GT, the NX 200t reaches 303 hp and 445 Nm. The same engine in the NX 300 reaches 278 hp and 410 Nm. The GAN GT is rated at up to 30% more power. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. A tuning box is not an ECU remap, because the module sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and the factory software stays untouched.
What does the 155 hp figure of the NX 300h refer to?
It is the petrol engine of the hybrid, while the system output with the electric motor is 197 hp.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
