What makes the Mitsubishi Lancer IX special
Lancer 2010 tuning: this page covers the CS0, not the CY0
A Lancer built in 2010 is not on this page: in Europe that year's car is already the CY0, listed in the catalogue as the Lancer (X). For Mitsubishi Lancer tuning with a tuning box, the body code decides: the CS0 is here, the CY0 on the Lancer (X) page. The CS0 was sold in Europe from autumn 2003, the saloon until autumn 2007 and the estate until summer 2008. Sources number this generation differently: seventh in German ones, eighth in English ones, ninth in the GAN catalogue.
The CS0 has three petrol engines and no diesel: a 1.3 with 81 hp, a 1.6 with 98 hp and a 2.0 with 135 hp. For chip tuning with the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power, the 1.6 goes from 98 hp to 110 hp and the 2.0 from 135 hp to 151 hp. The Evolution IX (2005–2007) shares the platform, and it is listed on this page as the Evolution 2.0T (2005-07).

Lancer 1.6 tuning: what does a GAN GA+ add to the 98 hp engine?
The 1.6 with 98 hp and 150 Nm goes to 110 hp and 168 Nm, and the 2.0 with 135 hp and 176 Nm goes to 151 hp and 197 Nm. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
