What makes the Mitsubishi Mirage special
Mitsubishi Mirage tuning: the car Europe knows as the Space Star
The current Mitsubishi Mirage was never a European model: the same Thai-built hatchback has been sold there as the Space Star since February 2013. The Mirage name is used in the United States, Canada, Australia and South-East Asia. If your car is in Europe, the tuning box you need is listed under the Space Star. The Space Star was presented at the Paris motor show in 2012 and has naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engines.
Those are a 1.0 MIVEC with 71 hp and 88 Nm and a 1.2 MIVEC with 80 hp and 106 Nm. From September 2020 the 1.2 made 71 hp and 102 Nm, and it stayed in the range until September 2025. Older Mirage models reached Europe as the Colt, and the Colt CJ0 of 1996 to 2003 was called Mirage in Japan.
What the Mirage figures show
Outside Europe the 1.2 MIVEC is quoted at 78 hp and 100 Nm; the European figure is 80 hp and 106 Nm. The difference comes from how the output is rated, not from a different engine. The 1.0 MIVEC makes 71 hp in Europe, and Asian markets list it slightly lower.
So the 78 hp version belongs to cars sold outside Europe; no European car ever had it. The sedan version, the Mirage G4, is also sold as the Attrage. In the catalogue the Mirage 1.2 works with the GAN GA+.

How much more power does the Mirage 1.2 with 78 hp get?
The catalogue lists 78 hp and 100 Nm, and the GAN GA+ takes the engine to 87 hp and 112 Nm. The engine is naturally aspirated, so the GAN GA+ applies, rated at up to 12% more power. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. Remember that these figures are for cars sold outside Europe.

Is there a turbo for the Mirage?
The factory range has no turbo engine: the 1.0 and 1.2 MIVEC are naturally aspirated three-cylinder units.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
