Pajero Pinin tuning can also mean suspension and tyres for off-road use; a tuning box, by contrast, works on the engine. Europe had three petrol engines, all with four-wheel drive: the 1.8 GDI with 120 hp from 1999 to 2001, the 2.0 GDI with 129 hp and 190 Nm, and the 1.8 MPI with 114 hp and 160 Nm from 2001. The 1.8 GDI with 120 hp is not in the catalogue.
The 1.8 MPI replaced the 1.8 GDI, and no diesel was sold in Europe. Both engines in the catalogue work with the GAN GA+.

Choose by engine: the 2.0 GDI with 129 hp or the 1.8 with 114 hp. The catalogue takes the 2.0 GDI from 129 hp and 190 Nm to 144 hp and 213 Nm with the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. Like the 1.8 GDI, the 2.0 GDI is a direct-injection engine and is not suitable for E10 fuel.
Is the Shogun Pinin the same car?
Yes, Shogun Pinin is the British name for the Pajero Pinin, and the same figures apply.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
