About the generation

What makes the Peugeot 3008 special

Peugeot 3008 tuning: the range changed in October 2016

The second Peugeot 3008 reached dealers on 29 October 2016 and went on to be European Car of the Year 2017, the first SUV to take the title. The first generation, a compact MPV with crossover styling, had been sold since 2009 and lasted in Germany until October 2016. The engine range changed completely with it: the second car has no 1.6 VTi 120 and no 1.6 HDi 109 or 112. So 3008 tuning starts with the generation, and only then is a tuning box matched to the engine.

First generation: VTi, THP and HDi

The first-generation petrol 3008 had the 1.6 VTi with 120 hp and 160 Nm until June 2015, and it works with the GAN GA+. The 1.6 THP made 156 hp and 240 Nm from September 2009, and 165 hp from July 2015. The 1.6 HDi began with 109 hp and 240 Nm in 2009, moved to 112 hp and then 114 hp, and the BlueHDi has 120 hp and 300 Nm.

The 2.0 HDi FAP comes with 150 hp or 163 hp, both with 340 Nm. In the HYbrid4 a 37 hp electric motor on the rear axle joins the 163 hp diesel, for 200 hp in total and four-wheel drive. The diesels and the THP use the GAN GT.

Second generation: PureTech and BlueHDi

The 3008 II has the 1.2 PureTech 130 with 230 Nm from October 2016, which the catalogue lists at 131 hp. The 2.0 BlueHDi with 177 hp and 400 Nm was built from October 2016 to September 2020, with an automatic gearbox. The 1.6 BlueHDi 120 ran until February 2018.

The 1.5 BlueHDi 130 is listed on the Peugeot 3008 II page. The third generation of 2024, with its mild hybrids, plug-in hybrids and the electric E-3008, is not in the catalogue.

How much more power does chip tuning give a 3008 2.0 BlueHDi?

Tuned, the 177 hp version goes to 214 hp and 484 Nm. The GAN GT line is rated at up to 30% more power; these are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.

3008 I with the 2.0 HDi 150 or 163: which one applies?

Go by the output in your registration documents, 150 hp or 163 hp: both have 340 Nm and both work with the GAN GT.

Which engine sits under the top trim badge of a 3008?

The badge does not decide the module; the engine does, so check the output and the year in your registration documents.

Tuning box or ECU remap on a Peugeot 3008?

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
