What makes the Peugeot 307 special

Peugeot 307 tuning: what to check on the engine

On the 1.6 HDi with 110 hp, leaking injector seals let combustion gases escape, and the carbon deposits they form can contaminate the oil and starve the turbocharger of lubrication. On the petrol 1.6 16V built before July 2005, rough idling and jerky acceleration could occur, and the fix was an update of the engine control software. Peugeot 307 tuning depends on the engine: the HDi diesels work with the GAN GT, and the petrol engines with the GAN GA+.

Peugeot 307 chip tuning: questions

Does a tuning box fix a fault on a 307 HDi?

No, the module does not repair faults, and it adjusts the engine sensor signals instead of changing the ECU program. On the 2.0 HDi 110, the dual-mass flywheel and the clutch fail most often, and the FAP particulate filter, the EGR valve, the injectors and the turbo can also give trouble. A tuning module does not replace a worn part: have these parts checked before fitting.

Peugeot 307 2.0 HDi tuning: what does the GAN GT add to the 136 hp?

With the GAN GT the 2.0 HDi 136 goes from 136 hp and 320 Nm to 176 hp and 409 Nm. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. GAN states up to 30% for diesels with the GAN GT.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
