What makes the Peugeot 508 special
Peugeot 508 tuning: which 2.0 HDi do you have?
Before looking at Peugeot 508 tuning for the 2.0 HDi, you have to work out which of four versions your car has. A tuning box is matched by the year of the car, before or after July 2015, and by the engine code. On the 508 I the 2.0 HDi came with 140 hp and 320 Nm or 163 hp and 340 Nm; from April 2014 the BlueHDi added 150 hp and 370 Nm or 180 hp and 400 Nm. The 140 hp and 163 hp versions were built until July 2015, and the BlueHDi versions ran until March 2018. Each of these diesels works with the GAN GT.
The 2.2 HDi had 204 hp and 450 Nm and was sold from October 2010 to April 2015. The four-wheel-drive HYbrid4 pairs a 163 hp, 300 Nm version of the 2.0 HDi with a 37 hp electric motor, 200 hp in total. The first RXH estate of 2012 to 2014 uses the same combination, and in the catalogue it follows the 163 hp diesel. From the facelift of 2014 the RXH also came with the 2.0 BlueHDi 180 and front-wheel drive.
Smaller diesels and petrol
The 1.6 HDi has 112 to 115 hp and 270 Nm, and the 1.6 BlueHDi from April 2015 has 120 hp and 300 Nm. Almost every first-generation 508 was sold as a diesel. Petrol meant the 1.6 alone: the VTi with 120 hp until August 2014, and the THP with 156 hp, rising to 165 hp from August 2014. The VTi 120 uses the GAN GA+, while the THP engines work with the GAN GT.
The second generation: fastback and SW
The 508 II arrived as a fastback in autumn 2018 and as an SW in June 2019; production ended in May 2025. Its diesels are the 1.5 BlueHDi and the 2.0 BlueHDi with 163 hp or 177 hp and 400 Nm. The 2.0 BlueHDi 163, the 1.6 PureTech with 181 or 225 hp and the plug-in hybrids are not in the catalogue.
The 1.5 BlueHDi diesel has no entry of its own in the 508 catalogue: the same engine is listed as the 1.5 BlueHDi 130 of the Peugeot 3008. The 1.2 PureTech 130 petrol, offered from 2020, is not listed separately for the 508 either: the same engine appears as the 1.2 PureTech 130 of the Peugeot 208.

508 2.0 HDi 163 chip tuning: how much more power?
With the GAN GT the 163 hp engine reaches 197 hp and 411 Nm. The GAN GT line is rated at up to 30% more power; these are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
What fits the 508 HYbrid4 or RXH?
For the HYbrid4 the catalogue goes by the 163 hp diesel with 300 Nm, which gives 200 hp together with the 37 hp electric motor. An RXH with the 2.0 BlueHDi 180 is listed separately on this page as the 2.0 HDI 180 RXH with 181 hp.
Is the 508 II 2.0 BlueHDi with 177 hp covered?

Tuning box or ECU remap on a Peugeot 508?
Unlike an ECU remap, which replaces the factory software in the engine control unit, a tuning box leaves that software exactly as it was. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
