Renault Arkana tuning: the engines of the European car
The European Arkana is a coupé-style crossover on the CMF-B platform, built in Busan and sold from March 2021. Its engines are the 1.3 TCe 140 and TCe 160 (158 hp), both mild hybrids, and the E-TECH Full Hybrid 145. There is no 1.6 with 114 hp in the European range.
For Arkana tuning with a tuning box, the catalogue has a GAN GA+ row for the petrol side of the E-TECH Full Hybrid, a naturally aspirated 1.6 with 94 hp. The 143 hp system output is not the engine figure. The 1.3 TCe 140 and TCe 160 are not in the catalogue.

The row refers to the 1.6 petrol engine and its 94 hp, not to the 143 hp system output. The catalogue gain of this GAN GA+ row is 11 hp. A naturally aspirated engine like this gets up to 12% more power from the GAN GA+. The module does not reprogram the gearbox.
What should I check on an Arkana E-Tech Hybrid 145 before fitting a module?
Two recall campaigns cover the E-Tech gearbox of the Arkana 1.6 E-Tech Hybrid 145: one for the electric drive unit on cars built from April 2020 to April 2023, and one for a leaking seal on the hollow input shaft on cars built before January 2024. Check by VIN that both campaigns have been carried out. A tuning module does not replace a worn part: have the E-Tech gearbox checked before fitting.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
