What makes the Renault Koleos special
Renault Koleos tuning: 2.0 dCi with 150 hp or 173 hp?
Two Koleos with a 2.0 dCi badge can have different power, because the first-generation diesel came in 150 hp and 173 hp versions. So for Renault Koleos tuning with a tuning box, the output of your diesel counts, not the badge. The 150 hp version makes 320 Nm and is listed in the catalogue as a 4x4. The 173 hp version makes 360 Nm and comes with 4x4 drive, including an automatic.
Both are the same M9R engine with a different factory setup, and the catalogue lists them separately, both with the GAN GT. Both diesels were built from 2008 to 2015. The Koleos II has the same M9R with 177 hp and 380 Nm, in the 4x4 version with the X-Tronic CVT. The Koleos II is offered with front-wheel drive or 4x4.
Petrol and the two generations
The first Koleos was built from June 2008, with facelifts in 2011 and 2013. Its petrol engine is the 2.5 16V with 171 hp and 226 Nm, and the diesels are the two 2.0 dCi versions. The 2.5 petrol works with the GAN GA+. The Koleos II began in November 2016, received a facelift in April 2019 and ran until September 2023. Its other engines are the 1.6 dCi with 130 hp, the 1.7 Blue dCi with 150 hp, the 2.0 Blue dCi and the 1.3 TCe with 158 hp.
The 1.6 dCi 130 has no entry of its own in the Koleos catalogue: the same engine is listed as the 1.6 dCi 130 of the Renault Kadjar. The 1.7 Blue dCi with 150 hp has no entry of its own in the Koleos catalogue: the same engine is listed as the 1.7 dCi of the Nissan X-Trail III. The 2.0 Blue dCi with 177 hp is listed on this page as the 2.0 dCi CVT 4x4. The 2.0 Blue dCi with 183 and 190 hp and the 1.3 TCe with 158 hp are not in the catalogue. With the GAN GT the 150 hp diesel reaches 193 hp and 409 Nm, and the 173 hp diesel 222 hp and 457 Nm. On a turbo diesel the GAN GT is rated at up to 30% more power. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.

Renault Koleos 2012 or 2017: what is covered?

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
