What makes the Renault Talisman special
Renault Talisman tuning: Grandtour and saloon diesels
The Talisman came as a saloon and as the Grandtour estate, and both bodies use the same engines. The place to begin Renault Talisman tuning with a tuning box is the 1.6 dCi 160, which makes 160 hp and 380 Nm. The 1.6 dCi 130 makes 320 Nm and the 1.5 dCi 110 makes 260 Nm. The 1.6 dCi 130 has one turbocharger and the 1.6 dCi 160 has two, and from 2018 the 1.7 Blue dCi joined them. The 1.5 dCi 110, the 1.6 dCi 130 and the 1.6 dCi 160 were sold from 2015 to 2018.
The 1.6 dCi 160 went out of the range in 2018. The 1.6 dCi 160 and the 1.6 TCe 200 come with the EDC automatic gearbox. The 1.6 TCe 200 makes 200 hp and 260 Nm. The petrol range also had a 1.6 TCe 150 with 150 hp. The 1.8 TCe 225 of 2018–2020 and the 1.3 TCe 160 from 2019 are not in the catalogue.
Which engines are covered
The 1.5 dCi 110, the 1.6 dCi 130, the 1.6 dCi 160 and the 1.6 TCe 200 all work with the GAN GT. From 2018 the diesels moved to the Blue dCi, with the 1.7 and the 2.0. The Talisman was built from August 2015 to February 2022, with a facelift in 2020.
The car has front-wheel drive. The estate is called the Talisman Grandtour, and versions are named by engine, for example 1.6 dCi.

Renault Talisman chiptuning: how much torque does the GAN GT add to the 1.6 dCi 160?
The 1.6 dCi 160 is listed at 160 hp and 380 Nm, and with the GAN GT it goes to 206 hp and 481 Nm. For a turbo diesel the GAN GT is rated at up to 30% more power. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Talisman 1.6 TCe 200: is the petrol covered?
It is: the 1.6 TCe 200, with 200 hp and 260 Nm, works with the GAN GT.
Renault Talisman Grandtour tuning: do the estate and the saloon use the same module?
Renault lists one engine range for the saloon and the Grandtour, so your engine decides the module, not the body.
What about the Blue dCi of 2018–2022?
The 1.7 Blue dCi 150 has no entry of its own in the Talisman catalogue: the same engine is listed as the 1.7 dCi of the Nissan X-Trail III. The 2.0 Blue dCi 160 and 200 are not in the catalogue.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
