Toyota Tacoma tuning for a pickup Europe does not sell

Toyota Tacoma tuning is a question about a pickup built for North America: the Tacoma is not sold officially in Europe, where the Hilux takes its place instead. The Tacoma versions in the catalogue are therefore American ones, with power in SAE hp. The first generation (N100, 1995–2004) had a 2.4 (2RZ-FE) with 142 hp, a 2.7 (3RZ-FE) with 150 hp and a 3.4 V6 (5VZ-FE) with 190 hp.

The second (N200, 2005–2015) had a 2.7 (2TR-FE) with 159 hp and a 4.0 V6 (1GR-FE) with 236 hp. From 2015 to 2023 the 2.7 kept its 159 hp and a 3.5 V6 (2GR-FKS) with 278 hp joined it; since 2023 the Tacoma has a 2.4 turbo and a hybrid. The catalogue covers the 2.4, the 2.7, the 3.4 V6 and the 4.0 V6, and all of them work with the GAN GA+.

Which Tacoma version to choose

The GAN GA+ is a tuning box, not a programmer: nothing is written to the ECU. The cab types are Regular Cab, Access Cab and Double Cab, and PreRunner and X-Runner are trims, so it is the engine that decides. The 159 hp engine is the 2.7 (2TR-FE), and the GAN GA+ takes it from 159 hp to 178 hp.

The 4.0 V6 (1GR-FE) with 236 hp also uses the GAN GA+. The 2.4 turbo and the hybrid of the latest generation are not in the catalogue.

No, it is a tuning box: it sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. The factory software, checksums and flash counter stay untouched, and the engine's factory protections remain active.
