What makes the Volvo C30 special

Volvo C30 tuning: the T5 and the rest of the range

At the top of Volvo C30 tuning with a tuning box sits the T5: a 2.5 five-cylinder turbo with 220 hp until 2007 and 230 hp and 320 Nm after that. The T5 works with the GAN GT, and so do the diesels, from the 1.6 D with 109 hp up to the 2.4 D5 with 179 hp. The Ford-based petrol 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 and the Volvo 2.4 use the GAN GA+. R-Design is a trim, not an engine, so it does not change which module fits.

What does Volvo C30 T5 tuning give on the 230 hp engine?

A C30 T5 230 goes from 230 hp and 320 Nm to 293 hp and 409 Nm, and the GAN GT gives up to 30% more power. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.

Does Volvo C30 chip tuning cover the D3, D4 and 1.6 D?

Yes, all three work with the GAN GT, and the 2.0 D with 136 hp, a PSA engine, is covered as well. The D4 with 177 hp and 400 Nm goes to 227 hp and 505 Nm.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
