What does the GAN GT add to the Dodge Nitro 2.8 CRD?
For the 177 hp Nitro 2.8 CRD the catalogue shows 227 hp and 517 Nm with the GAN GT, up from 177 hp and 410 Nm. The Caliber 2.2 CRD with 163 hp, sold in Europe from summer 2010, also works with the GAN GT. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Does the Caliber 2.0 CRD use the same module as the Nitro?
No. In the catalogue the 140 hp 2.0 CRD from Volkswagen is matched with the GAN GA+, so go by the stock figure of your car.
Is there a module for the HEMI engines of a Challenger or Charger?
The naturally aspirated petrol engines of the Challenger and Charger work with the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power. Remember that the catalogue states their power in SAE hp: choose by engine and version, not by the power figure on your European papers.
Tuning box or ECU remap for a Dodge?
Dodge chiptuning with a tuning box works differently. Unlike an ECU remap, which rewrites the factory software, a tuning box sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. With the GAN module the factory software, checksums and flash counter stay untouched, and the engine's factory protections remain active. Once the module is removed, no traces remain: nothing is written to the ECU. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

An ECU remap permanently changes the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning module adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute.

Dodge tuning in Europe: four models and a Viper
Dodge tuning with a tuning box is a question of market first. In Europe the main Dodge was the Caliber, built from 2006 to 2011 with a 2.0 CRD diesel from Volkswagen making 140 hp. Germany registered 6,705 Calibers between 2006 and 2012. The Caliber also had petrol engines of 150, 156 and 170 hp, and from summer 2010 a 2.2 CRD with 163 hp from Mercedes.
Germany and Austria got the Caliber first, in June 2006. The Avenger followed in 2007, the Nitro in June 2007 and the Journey in June 2008. For Dodge chip tuning it helps to know that the brand withdrew from Europe around 2011, after Fiat took control of Chrysler.
Diesel and petrol in the European Dodges
The European Nitro had a 2.8 CRD from VM Motori with 177 hp and 410 Nm, alongside a 3.7 V6 with 205 hp and a 4.0 V6 with 260 hp. The Journey, sold from 2008 to 2010, had the 140 hp 2.0 CRD and a 170 hp 2.4 petrol engine; the Fiat Freemont took its place in 2011. The Avenger was a saloon sold in the UK, Ireland and Western Europe.
It used the same 2.0 CRD alongside 2.0 and 2.4 petrol engines, and about 5,500 were sold in Europe between 2007 and 2010. The Viper SRT-10 of 2005 and 2006 was sold as a Dodge with 506 hp, and Germany registered 188 of them. Turbo engines such as the 2.8 CRD of the Nitro work with the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power.

American models arrive as single imports
The Challenger, Charger, Durango and Ram reach Europe as single imports through AEC and KW Auto. A Challenger has two ratings: the Hellcat has 727 hp by the European metric count and 717 hp by the American SAE rating. For the American models the catalogue gives power in SAE hp, which is not the same as European PS.
The Caliber, Journey, Nitro and Avenger are the Dodge models of Europe, while the Challenger and Charger are American muscle cars with Hellcat and SRT labels. The new Charger, from 2024, comes as the electric Daytona and, announced for Europe in 2026, as the Sixpack with a 3.0 six-cylinder. SRT is the factory performance division; SRT8 cars have the naturally aspirated 6.1 and 6.4 HEMI, and Hellcat means the supercharged 6.2 HEMI.
