What makes the Land Rover Defender special
Land Rover Defender chip tuning: the Td5 and the 2.4
Land Rover Defender tuning here means the L316 in its 90, 110 and 130 versions, built until 2016. Defender tuning with a tuning box comes down to two engines, the Td5 with 122 hp and the Ford 2.4 diesel with 122 hp from 2007 to 2011. A GAN GA+ takes the Td5 from 122 hp to 137 hp, and a GAN GT takes the 2.4 to 159 hp.
These are the stated gains for these engine types, not a dyno reading of your car. From 2012 to 2016 the Defender had a 2.2 diesel with the same output as the 2.4. The 2.2 Puma diesel of the Defender is not in the catalogue.

Is the 2020 Defender in the catalogue?
The D200, D250 and D300 diesels and the P400 petrol engine of the L663 are not in the catalogue. The P300 is not listed separately for the Defender: the same engine appears as the 2.0 T of the Jaguar F-Pace.

Unlike an ECU remap, a GAN tuning box does not write anything to the ECU: it adjusts the sensor signals and comes off in about a minute. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
