What makes the Porsche Macan special

Porsche Macan tuning: the year decides the engine

For Porsche Macan tuning the year matters, because the 95B changed its engine range in 2018. Until 2018 the 2.0 TFSI has 252 hp, the S Diesel 258 hp and the GTS 3.0 V6 360 hp. From 2018 the 2.0 TFSI has 245 hp (265 hp from 2021), the diesels are gone and the GTS gets a 2.9 V6 from 2019.

The GAN GT covers the 2.0 TFSI with 237 and 252 hp, the 3.0 Diesel with 211, 245 and 250 hp, the S Diesel and the GTS 3.0 V6. The Macan S, the 400 hp Turbo and the 2.9 V6 engines are not in the catalogue. The Turbo with the Performance Package and 440 hp has no entry of its own in the Macan catalogue: the same engine is listed as the 3.6 GTS of the Porsche Cayenne.

Macan 2.0 TFSI chip tuning: what does the GAN GT add to the 252 hp?

For the 252 hp engine the catalogue shows 319 hp and 469 Nm, from 252 hp and 370 Nm. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. GAN states up to 30% for turbo engines with the GAN GT.

Porsche Macan remap or a tuning box on the 2.0 TFSI?

A remap changes the factory calibration, while the GAN module leaves it alone and the engine's factory protections remain active. The 245 hp 2.0 TFSI from 2018 has no entry of its own in the Macan catalogue: the same engine is listed as the 2.0 TFSI of the Audi A4.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
