Porsche Chip Tuning
Up to 30% more power for your Porsche
The Porsche catalogue lists 111 engines (models: 8, generations: 15). For 33% of the engines, there are the GAN GT (up to 30% more power) and GAN GTL (up to 25%) tuning modules; for the rest, the GAN GA and GAN GA+ (up to 12%). Each engine’s figures are on its own page.
Porsche chip tuning without an ECU remap
The tuning module sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.

What Porsche owners say about GAN
My car is normal aspirated and there are less products than for turbos , which give additional power other than remapping which is costly and limited. GAN is the only one which I can find for my car , easy and best. GAN+ offers Installation is ' Plug in OBD2 ' ONLY ! Extension cable works. 5 yr warranty 2 yr engine…
EASY AND QUICK INSTALLATION MOBILE APP SIMPLE TO USE FAST CHANGING MODES BETTER THROTTLE RESPONSE REALLY WORKS ! CAR BECAME FASTER Car is more powerful, pleasant to drive ! Don't hesitate you won't be disappointed !
Simple and convenient. Satisfied with result. I connected this device via the attached cable and hid it behind the pile floor covering. Up to 100 km, I notices the result: the throttle response at 1,2,3 gear is better, the fuel consumption did not change (I use the “Dynamic” mode). I think the result is good for such…
Porsche chip tuning: questions
Which GAN module fits a 911 Carrera: the 991.1 or the 991.2?
The 991.1 Carrera, Carrera S and Carrera GTS are naturally aspirated and work with the GAN GA+. The 991.2 Carrera has a 3.0 twin-turbo, and the 991.2 is not in the catalogue.
What does the GAN GA+ give a naturally aspirated Boxster or Cayman?
The 986, 987 and 981 flat-sixes work with the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power. Take the 981 Boxster 2.7: the catalogue shows 286 hp and 302 Nm for a stock 265 hp and 280 Nm. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
What does the GAN GT give the 718 Boxster and Cayman with the 2.0 and 2.5 turbo?
The 2.0 with 300 hp and the 2.5 with 350 hp are turbocharged four-cylinders, and the GAN GT covers both. The 4.0 flat-six that returned later is naturally aspirated and is matched with the GAN GA+.
Porsche chiptuning: tuning box or ECU remap?
An ECU remap rewrites the factory software, while the GAN tuning module sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. The factory software, the checksums and the flash counter stay untouched, and the engine's factory protections remain active. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Does the GAN module affect my Porsche warranty?
No. The module does not change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved. We also give an engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Tuning box or ECU remap: which should I choose?
An ECU remap permanently changes the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning module adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute.
Porsche chip tuning: what to know about the engines
Porsche tuning: a turbo without the badge
Porsche tuning with a tuning box depends on the engine, not the badge: a car without the word Turbo on it can still have a turbocharger. Turbo on a Porsche does mean a turbocharged engine, while the Carrera, Carrera S and Carrera GTS of the 997 and the 991.1 are naturally aspirated. The 991.2 Carrera, however, already has a 3.0 twin-turbo without Turbo in its name.
So one model name can stand for two different modules, and it is your engine that decides which one fits. As a rule a turbo engine gets the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power, and a naturally aspirated one the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12%.
718: the Boxster and Cayman move to four cylinders
From 2016 to 2025 the Boxster and the Cayman were sold as the 718, internal code 982. The naturally aspirated flat-sixes of the 986, 987 and 981 gave way to turbocharged four-cylinders: a 2.0 with 300 hp and a 2.5 with 350 hp. Later a naturally aspirated 4.0 flat-six with 400 to 500 hp returned. In the catalogue the 718 Boxster 2.0 with 300 hp and the 2.5 with 350 hp work with the GAN GT, and so does the 718 Cayman 2.0 with 300 hp.

The flat-sixes and the 911
The flat-six Boxsters of the 986, 987 and 981, from 204 to 375 hp, are matched with the GAN GA+. So are the Cayman 3.4 S with 295, 320 and 325 hp and the Cayman GTS with 340 hp. The same goes for the 997 Carrera 4S with 355 and 385 hp, the 997 Carrera GTS with 408 hp and the 991 Carrera S with 400 hp.
What the letters mean on a Porsche
S marks a more powerful version, and GTS, for Gran Turismo Sport, sits one level above it. RS stands for RennSport: a road version derived from a racing car. Carrera is the historic title of the main 911 line, taken from the Carrera Panamericana race.
The 4 in Carrera 4, 4S or Targa 4 marks four-wheel drive. The Targa is an open 911 with a roll bar, named after the Targa Florio race. The digits 986, 987, 981 and 982 are internal type codes. For Porsche chip tuning, the model name, 911, Cayenne, Macan, Boxster or Cayman, and the body code, such as 997, 991 or 981, identify the car.
Which Porsche models are in the catalogue
The catalogue lists 8 models from Porsche. The most engines are listed for the Cayenne (31), Boxster (26) and Panamera (15). The biggest gain among the models is on the Cayenne: up to +102 hp.
Naturally aspirated Porsche engines
For 67 naturally aspirated engines from Porsche, there is the GAN GA+: up to 12% more power and up to 15% lower fuel consumption in ECO mode. You can fit it yourself, in most cases in under 15 minutes.
How to find your Porsche engine
Choose your model in the list above, then the generation by model year and chassis code, and the engine by the power output in your registration document. The engine page shows the exact gain and the tuning module price.
