Chevrolet Silverado tuning starts with the Duramax 6.6
Silverado tuning with a tuning box begins with the engine, and on the HD 2500 and 3500 the diesel is the Duramax 6.6 V8. It comes in three versions: the LBZ of 2006 and 2007, the LMM of 2007 to 2010 and the LML of 2011 to 2016. These pickups were built for the American market and were not offered in Europe, so the figures below are catalogue values, not SAE ratings.
In the catalogue the LBZ is listed at 367 hp and 881 Nm, the LMM at 370 hp and 895 Nm, and the LML at 402 hp and 1,037 Nm. The catalogue lists all three of them under the GAN GT.
Silverado 1500: V6 and V8 petrol engines
The Silverado 1500 came in four generations: the GMT800 (1999–2007), the GMT900 (2007–2013), the K2XX (2014–2018) and the T1XX from 2019. Its engines include the 4.3 V6 and the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and 6.2 V8. Since 2018–2020 the 1500 has also been sold in Oceania through HSV, as a right-hand-drive conversion of the 6.2 V8. The catalogue lists the 4.3 at 195 and 285 hp and the 4.8 at 295 and 302 hp.
The 5.3 appears at 315 and 355 hp, the 6.0 at 353 and 367 hp and the 6.2 at 403 and 420 hp. All of these petrol engines work with the GAN GA+. The GMC Sierra is the twin of the Silverado. Match both the engine and its output, since the same engine name covers several outputs.

On the LML the catalogue shows 470 hp and 1,213 Nm, from 402 hp and 1,037 Nm. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. GAN states up to 30% more power for the GAN GT.
How much can a Silverado 1500 with the 5.3, 6.0 or 6.2 V8 expect?
These engines work with the GAN GA+, which GAN rates at up to 12% more power. GAN also quotes up to 15% lower fuel consumption with an economical driving style.
Silverado tuning box or ECU remap: what stays untouched?
An ECU remap rewrites the software in the ECU. The GAN module works differently: the factory software, checksums and flash counter stay untouched, and nothing is written to the ECU. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
