Ford Ranger tuning: start with the generation
To tune a Ford Ranger with a tuning box, start with the generation. The catalogue gives no years for the Ranger, and its diesels belong to the Ranger II of 2006 to 2011. Check the engine and the stock output of your pickup before you choose. The Ranger II came with the 2.5 TDCi of 143 hp and the 3.0 TDCi of 156 hp, and both work with the GAN GT.
The Ranger Raptor with the twin-turbo 3.0 EcoBoost V6 of 292 hp, in Europe since November 2022, is matched to the GAN GT too. For Ford Ranger chip tuning the engine is what counts, not the XL, XLT, Limited or Wildtrak trim.

What does the GAN GT add to the Ranger II 2.5 TDCi?
With the GAN GT the Ranger II 2.5 TDCi goes from 143 hp and 330 Nm to 185 hp and 421 Nm. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Does the Ranger Raptor with the 3.0 EcoBoost take the same module?
Yes. The 292 hp Raptor has a turbocharged petrol engine and is covered separately, with the GAN GT.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
