What makes the BMW 3 Series G20 special
BMW G20 tuning: the 330i changed on one date
The 330i of the BMW 3 Series G20 made 258 hp until June 2022 and has made 245 hp since July 2022, with the same B48 engine. The 245 hp car has a B48 variant with the exhaust manifold integrated into the cylinder head. The G20 is the saloon and the G21 the Touring, and the facelift came in May 2022.
The build date decides which version applies, so a tuning box for the 330i is matched to that date. The 318i is the 2.0-litre B48 with 156 hp from March 2020, not the three-cylinder engine of earlier generations. The 318d and 320d are B47 diesels with 150 and 190 hp, and both have a 48-volt mild hybrid from 2020.
What the GAN GT adds to the 330i
With the GAN GT the 258 hp car reaches 302 hp and the 245 hp car 287 hp, both with 468 Nm. These are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.

BMW 318i G20 chip tuning: is this the old three-cylinder engine?
No, the European 318i G20 has the 2.0-litre B48B20 with 156 hp and 250 Nm, available from March 2020. The petrol 318i, 320i and 330i all come with the eight-speed automatic. The module does not reprogram the gearbox.
BMW 330e G20: which engine figure does the module work with?
The 330e is a plug-in hybrid with a 184 hp petrol engine, and the whole system makes 252 hp, or 292 hp in boost mode. The catalogue goes by the petrol engine, so the starting point is 184 hp, not the system figure.

An ECU remap replaces the factory software in the engine control unit, whereas the GAN module sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the module can be removed at any time.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
