What makes the Volkswagen Polo VI special
Polo 2017 tuning: which Polo VI engines are covered
The Polo VI (Typ AW) was shown on 16 June 2017, built in Pamplona from September 2017 and facelifted in April 2021. The three-cylinder 1.0 MPI came with 65 and 75 hp and, from July 2020, with 80 hp. For Polo VI tuning with a tuning box these engines are in the catalogue, all with the GAN GA+. The 1.0 TSI with 95 or 110 hp is not in the catalogue.
The GTI and the diesel
For Polo GTI tuning, the GTI with 200 hp and 320 Nm and the 1.6 TDI with 80 and 95 hp work with the GAN GT. The 1.6 TDI was built from December 2017 to August 2020, and after that the range had no diesels. Its other names are Polo Mk6 and Polo 6.
The 1.5 TSI with 150 hp is not listed separately for the Polo VI: the same engine appears as the 1.5 TSI of the VW T-Roc. The facelift GTI with 207 hp is not in the catalogue.

How much more power does Polo chiptuning give a naturally aspirated 1.0 with 75 hp?
The naturally aspirated 1.0 with 75 hp and 95 Nm rises to 84 hp and 106 Nm with the GAN GA+. The GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power; these are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
How much power does the GAN GT add to the Polo VI GTI?
With the GAN GT the GTI rises from 200 hp and 320 Nm to 242 hp and 387 Nm.
What limits the torque of a Polo VI with the 7-speed DSG?
The 1.0 TSI and the 1.5 TSI can come with the 7-speed dry-clutch DSG (DQ200), rated at 250 Nm. The module does not reprogram the gearbox.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 tune?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
